Inprint to feature Rushdie

Inprint's Margarett Root Brown Reading Series will feature author Salman Rushdie on Friday, Dec. 3 at 7:30 p.m. at Jones Hall.

Rushdie will read from his new novel, Luka and the Fire of Life, a companion to Haroun and the Sea of Stories. 

Rushie's reading will be followed by an onstage interview, conducted by Houston novelist and University of Houston Creative Writing Program faculty member Alexander Parsons, and a book sale and signing. 

Rushdie, one of the most thought-provoking writers of our time, is the author of more than 10 novels, including Midnight's Children, winner of the Booker Prize, the Booker of Bookers, and the Best of the Booker; The MoreMoor's Last Sigh; and the controversial the Satanic Verses. He has also published four works of non-fiction and a collecton of sort stories, and has edited two anthologies. Knighted by Queen Elizabeth II for his services to literature, Rushdie was ranked 13th by the London Times on its list of "the 50 greatest British writers since 1945."
