Pettit to lead Art Colony Association

Julie Pettit has been named president of the Art Colony Association, sponsor of the Bayou City Art Festival.

Pettit has been an active member of the ACA board for six years and has served as secretary and chair of the Strategic Planning Committee for the festival.

Mary Paulette has been elected vice president; Nicola Parente and Laquita J. Cyprian have been elected secretary and 
treasurer, respectively.

Other members of the ACA board of directors are John Daniel, Michael Piana, Joe Pogge, Bien Tran, Nadia Troutenko and Bart Truxillo.

“On behalf of the entire Bayou City Art Festival Board, we can’t wait to share what we have in store for the Bayou City Art Festivals in 2012,” said Pettit. “We guarantee a great time for Houstonians and art lovers of all tastes in Memorial Park and Downtown."

Established in 1972, ACA is non-profit organization dedicated to producing high-quality art festivals and events. More than $2.7 million have been raised over the past 40 years to support local non-profit organizations. The festivals are funded in part by grants from the City of Houston through the Houston Arts Alliance.
