NEWS: Rice to get historical marker

An official Texas Historical Commission marker for Rice University will be dedicated on campus at 1 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 23; the date the first graduating class of the Rice Institute matriculated 100 years ago. The ceremony will take place near Founder's Court.

Rice President David Leebron will speak and Rice alumnus/Harris County Judge Ed Emmet will present a resolution at the ceremony. The Rice Historical Society obtained the historical marker, which is being dedicated in commemoration of the university’s Centennial Celebration, October 10-14.
