NEWS Houston Airport System welcomes Carnival Cruise passengers

The Houston Airport System reports a total of seven charter jets landed at George Bush Intercontinental Airport since 9 a.m. today, carrying passengers from the Carnival Cruise who arrived in Alabama last night. Four more flights are scheduled to depart New Orleans for Houston yet today.

Dozens of Houston Airport System employees are assisting passengers as they complete their journey home.

"The Houston Airport System is happy to assist our partner Delta Air Lines with a smooth transition of approximately 2300 passengers as they make their way home from the Carnival cruise ship Triumph,” said Lance Lyttle, Houston Airport System Chief Operating Officer. “We are providing water, refreshments, comfort stations and coloring books with crayons to children. They are boarding buses in our cargo area in order to take them either to Terminal A for passenger pick up or to their final destination in Galveston at the port to retrieve their vehicles."
