The annual Nominate HER Awards program is designed to recognize Houston women who influence and inspire those around them and, thereby, serve as excellent role models for others in our community.

Recipients of the Nominate HER Awards are nominated by readers of Houston Woman Magazine and selected by the staff of the publication.

The Nominate HER Awards are presented annually at a luncheon in May. Individual tickets and sponsorship opportunities are available. Proceeds benefit the Houston Woman Scholarship Fund, Inc., which funds college scholarships for female students.

After that big event, the photos and inspiring stories of all Nominate HER Award winners are featured in Houston Woman Magazine.

The Nominate HER Awards are as follows:

•  Broad Shoulders
Awarded to a woman who has exemplifies sincere friendship and provides comfort and support in good times and bad.

•  Community Angel
Goes to a woman who has provided help and assistance in our community, leaving her mark on those she has assisted.

•  Evolving Eve
Given to a woman who has accomplished a significant, positive change in her life, improving not only her status in life but also the lives of those around her.

•  Gutsy Gal
Recognizes a woman who has taken a position on an idea and by pursuing her belief, influenced others to the betterment of her community.

•  Maximum Mom
Given to a woman who has been an extraordinary mother to her children in providing a strong moral character and role model.

•  Savvy Sister
Bestowed upon a woman who has made a significant career change, interesting business maneuver or an innovative change to her workplace.

•  Tomorrow's Woman
Recognizes a young woman achieving high marks in high school or college, shows promise of future leadership by making a contribution to her community.

•  Wise Woman
Recognizes a teacher/mentor who has provided guidance that has had a significant impact on the outcome of others' lives.
